I agree completely. Viewing oneself as a victim is a huge showstopper. It is not possible to create any of the things we truly desire, like success and fulfillment, until we realize that we are the creators of our reality. It’s an enormous responsibility and also an opportunity to expand into our infinite possibilities. Being a victim only provides more opportunities to perceive oneself as a victim; embracing our power opens us to the miraculous…
Thanks for this, Kevin. I’ll tweet it and mention it on our International Association of Holistic Practitioners page on Facebook. I appreciate your work and the positive contribution you are making.

Victimhood is a state of mind that so many have without even being aware of it. (I played the role of a victim for many years without any clue I was doing it.) Being a victim can be such a habitual way of thinking or a knee-jerk recation to life! Life as a victim is giving your power away for sure. Authentic power is, in deed, claiming your soul purpose and not allowing any outside stimuli to take it away! In fact, no-one or no-thing can take your power away. You either give it away or you don’t. It is truly, as you said, a moment by moment choice!
I believe IT IS TIME NOW to step into our power like never before and shine our light brightly not only for our own well-being but for that of the planet.
Thanks, for the great video. I will retweet!

Hi Kevin, Thanks for following me. I like your comments regarding victim vs. leader. As I see it, being a victim is a sure way to guarantee that you will fail in business and in life. I believe people fall into three categories — victims, survivors or conqurers. It’s a choice. I choose to be the best that I can be. I choose to be a conquerer. I retweeted this post.

Hi Kevin,
I disagree with the choice you presented my friend.
I appreciate your discussion however, and I think your heart is in the right place.
Firstly, I do beleive we all have to become aware of the “inital” mindset we are all born with, which is indeed victimhood. From there I beleive we can choose to “empower” ourselves instead of staying in the victim mindset ie: Placing blame on everyone and every phenomena such as “the depressed economy” for our financial problems or government for lack of jobs etc.
Self-empowerment then in the next step after victimhood on the journey of one’s evolution. It is also a step up in consciousness; a higher consciousness, than victimhood.
This step is prescisely where I disagree with your “theory” though, because I for one do not beleive that leadership comes with empowerment.
Not to say that it can’t, however, I don’t think empowerment “precludes” leadership.
If that were true everyone who is self-empowered would be a leader by definition. I beleive one has to become empowered, either self-empowered or coached or mentored, and become an intelligent follower first. I beleive leadership is a “learned thing” and one learns it by following intelligently.
The most important variable I beleive is the amount of responsibility one is willing to take on. Some empowered folks would rather not take on a lot of responsibility because it’s not within their mindset capability.
Leaders must take responsibility by definition.
I beleive there are 2 more steps after empowerment. The third step is really where I think leadership surfaces in a person, if it’s there.
This step is called “surrender” (Thanks Joe Vitale)
“Surrender” is when you are aligned with your intuitive voice ie: “the voice of divinity” and you surrender to that. You place all trust in the universe and the “laws” of right thinking and divine order. You go with the intuitive voice within because it’s leading you to your “divine purpose”, and you manifest what you manifest, which is usually prosperity because you are being lead, by divinity, to your divine purpose.
How can you manifest anything less if you’re divinely lead?
The next step, which I beleive there’s only a few individuals that have reached this point is where you are a Servant of the divine, it’s called “Awakened”. This is the fourth step to consciousness.Literally most of your thoughts become manifest almost instantly through the universe. It’s way beyond leadership.
In addition, leadership at it’s best, is creativity expressed. Not everyone who’s empowered is creative to the extent of that of a leader.
Finally if how you present your choice of being victim vs being a leader were true, there would ONLY be Victims and Leaders in the world and I don’t see that as being true either.
In my humble opinion Kevin, and this is only my opinion, I beleive broadening and deepening your perspective is requisite.
If what you were saying was true, it would be true of all people’s experience and I have not found that to be true in my experience.
I certainly never reached a point in my life where I said to myself ok Peter, you have a choice of staying in “victimhood” or being a leader. Life doesn’t happen like that.
I don’t see the universe working that way. It’s victimhood first then empowerment,THEN leadership IF a person chooses.
Leadership is a higher consciousness than empowerment as well!
It only takes one “failure of a theory” to make it false, and it’s not true for me brother.
