Here is an overview of the steps you can take if you want to drive some SERIOUS traffic to your blog:
1. Do keyword research– Use the Google Keyword Tool if you’re new to this and find a keyword phrase that is getting plenty of searches but is not that competitive.
2. Do on page search engine optimization by putting that exact keyword phrase in:
- the permalink of your blog post
- the title of your blog post
- the content of your blog post
- the title and metatag description of your blog post (use the all in one SEO pack plug in for this)
3. Embed a Youtube video into your blog post and name that video with the same keyword phrase (if you want to take this a step further, use Traffic Geyser to distribute your video to over 60 video sharing sites– this is a MUST HAVE if you are serious about traffic generation).
4. Distribute your blog post through all of the social book marking sites like digg and stumbleupon
5. Distribute your blog post to the top online article directories and create backlinks directly to your post. I personally use the Automatic Article Submitter which gives me 2-300 backlinks to my blog every single time I spin an article through it. Truly a powerful piece of software.
6. Create a squidoo lens with the keyword phrase you are targeting and link back to your blog post.
7. Create a hub page and do the same thing.
8. Use ping.fm to distribute your post to all of the social media sites like Twitter and Facebook.
9. Do this every single day for 60 days. Do NOT stop until 60 days is up. Consistent content is a KEY element of success for this strategy.
Once you get the hang of this, you can go through this whole process in about 2 hours. Or you can outsource all or most of it. I absolutely love this marketing strategy because it integrates so many pieces of the online marketing puzzle. Ever notice how easy it is to just feel completely overwhelmed by all the steps you need to take to get online exposure?
This formula streamlines so many of the most effective internet marketing strategies available today. The honest truth is that 98% of your competition will never do this because it is too much work. But come on— you CAN put in 2 hours a day to get some serious traffic coming to your blog. After all, this is the start of your online success. If there is seriously no way you have time to do this, then you should outsource it. If you don’t have time OR money to invest in this process, then you are NOT a good candidate for online marketing in general and you should just stick with your day job.
If you ever feel at a loss as to where to put your energy, just do this. This formula is the most comprehensive and effective method I have yet to discover to generate traffic.
